RE: Travel Updates
Travel Suspension Extension
The CSU has extended the suspension of all non-essential international and domestic travel for the entire 2020-21 fiscal year. The CSU has given campus presidents the authority to provide exceptions to this suspension when there are compelling reasons that support the academic and co-curricular mission of the campus.
Please work with your respective vice president if you feel you have a compelling reason to seek the president’s approval to travel. Exceptions will be granted on a very limited basis. This applies to any and all University and auxiliary travel, including athletics, clubs and grant-funded travel.
Systemwide Meetings and Conferences
Reductions in operating budgets require actions to reduce non-essential travel expenses. As a result, the CSU announced that all systemwide meetings and conferences will be held virtually for the 2020-21 fiscal year.
Addition to AB 1887 Travel Ban
Last week California Attorney General Xavier Becerra announced that, effective July 1, 2020, California will restrict state-funded travel to Idaho pursuant to AB 1887. For additional information on AB 1887, including the list of states subject to its provisions, visit: www.oag.ca.gov/ab1887.
